We are officially 6 months into the leadership-sharing partnership between Two Rivers Church and the Ecumenical Campus Ministry at UofG. As a congregation, we affirmed the direction of this partnership and voted to renew for another 2 years. ECM, the Presbytery of Waterloo-Wellington, and the regional council of the United Church of Canada, have all done likewise. So now is a moment to celebrate, reflect, and express a few gratitudes.
Over these 6 months, I’ve been really blessed to be introduced to the 2RC community. We had an awesome Spring Retreat, shared some great conversations, welcomed Sylvie Westwood in baptism, and commission Ian Van Harten to a new season of faith, creativity, and service. I’ve appreciated the care and wise stewardship of our Leadership Team, and enjoyed a rhythm of lingering with 2RC folks at the Red Brick Cafe over Lent. As we transition towards some new summer patterns, I’m excited about what lies ahead.
So I just want to say a big thanks for the welcome and trust extended to me and our family. And praise God for each story, joy, and tenderness shared over these 6 months. It’s really encouraging that communities like 2RC exist, and it’s a real privilege to tend to it together.
