Children’s Gatherings & Nursery

Overview:

Two Rivers provides children’s gatherings and nursery every Sunday with a focus on the following foundational principles:

  • Being like children before Christ, always growing in our faith.

  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, safe space where children are able to explore their faith, be curious, and ask questions.

  • Cultivating strong relationships between children, leaders, and the congregation and tending to the presence of Christ together.

  • Learning to walk in the ways of Jesus.

Children ages three to twelve are welcome to participate in our children’s gatherings. Children’s gatherings are comprised of biblical teachings and storytelling, songs, games, active learning, as well as art and writing.

Children ages birth to three are welcome to participate in our nursery, which is adjacent to our children’s gatherings. The nursery contains toys, art supplies, and light snacks. Often children in the nursery join with the older children.

Leading with Care:

Two Rivers Church is committed to the prevention of different forms of abuse by fostering safe spaces for the congregation (especially children, teens, and vulnerable adults) and by providing training to leaders and volunteers. Two Rivers Church executes the Leading with Care Policy, created by the Presbyterian Church in Canada (PCC), in 2005.

Further, Two Rivers adheres to the PCC’s Policy and Procedures for Addressing Harrassment and Policy for Dealing with Sexual Abuse and Harrassment

Leading with Care training, signing a Covenant of Care form, and a Police Record Check are required for all Two Rivers volunteers and leaders.
